In July 2003, I travelled to Perth, Western Australia. It was winter. A lengthy drought had finally broken. It rained nearly every day.

Perth is remote. It is as easy to get to Singapore as to Sydney.

But for many it is one of their favourite cities; relaxed and fun. The Aussie animals are a big draw for me as they are for many tourists.
